Do you have a creative business opportunity or problem that you need support on? TreeFort at Georgian College embeds projects directly into the curriculum for students to tackle as apart of their learning.

Course pages will be posted for each area of interest so please apply to the appropriate page with your business problem/opportunity and it will be reviewed by Alison Durtnall - Director, TreeFort. There is a fee for these projects.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

The final deliverable will be agreed upon by Alison Durtnall (Director of TreeFort), educator and partnering organizations.

Project Examples

The Public Relations course is one of the many offered programs at Georgian College that could have a TreeFort project implemented. Students in teams of 4-5 will tackle a PR project of your choosing.

Areas of focus for this project include but are not limited to:

  • Press release(s) describing your business, recent success stories, notable events
  • Public relations strategy and target market
  • Public relations plan with timelines and metrics
  • Any other project as assigned based on current company needs.
Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available to attend kick off and final presentations with the students either in-person or virtually.

These projects are paid opportunities, including a small project fee and awards for the students. Top 3 places will earn an award. The cost will be discussed between Alison Durtnall and the partnering organization.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
